Hi, my name is Katrina. I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner serving the Alaska community and beyond.
I am a firm believer in your ability to heal yourself with the right support, knowledge and tools.
How did I get here?
Like many people, I found the world of natural healing because I struggled with chronic health problems. I had migraines, skin issues and chronic digestive problems. Western (modern) medicine did not offer any insight into the root causes, only treated the symptoms, and didn’t offer true relief.
I felt what many people feel, estranged from myself and my body at a deep level (but I didn’t know that yet!). When I was in Colorado learning to grow food and herbs, I learned about traditional medicine systems that empower people to take their healing into their own hands, and I was inspired to investigate.
My Ayurvedic Training
I am a graduate of Alandi Ayurveda Gurukula’s 4-year Master Ayurvedic Practitioner program, a 4,320 hour program consisting of:
Classical Ayurvedic pathology and treatment
Clinical assessment including nail, tongue, face & pulse reading
Modern anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
Differential diagnosis
Herbology (both Ayurvedic and western)
Classical herbal preparations
2.5 years taking clients in Student Clinic, supervised by Alakananda Ma, AD
Supervised, at-home panchakarma cleanses
Ayurvedic cooking theory
Meditation
Vedic spirituality & worldview
During my Ayurvedic training in Boulder, CO, I completed intensive yoga teacher trainings in the Kaiut Method (300 hr), a style of therapeutic hatha yoga that focuses on meeting people of all ages and abilities where they are and increasing mobility despite injuries, while soothing the nervous system.
In my practice, I incorporate elements of my personal study of psychology & self-empowerment, non-violent communication and relationship dynamics to help you see clearly what might be standing in the way of your wellness as a whole person.
I use all these skills to help people like you achieve radiant health and peak resilience.

I was drawn to Ayurveda because it worked for me.
It is geared toward discovering the root causes of illness, it is natural, and it is grounded in a medical system that understands how the body works, how dis-ease progresses, and how it can be stopped.
It is a holistic system that acknowledges how different and unique we all are in mind, body and spirit.
Instead of using complex medical or scientific jargon that takes years to memorize and is confusing to the average person, Ayurveda uses the 20 qualities--words like rough, smooth, sticky, cold, hot, etc.-- that we all can relate to simply because we have a body!
This makes Ayurveda supremely accessible, empowering us to take our health and wellness into our own hands.
Instead of taking lots of random supplements, hoping the dosages and formulations are right for you, work with someone who has the knowledge to guide your healing journey.
Ayurveda helped me to heal the chronic digestive issues that were causing the migraines and skin issues, as well as some other problems. It helped me to understand who I am and why my body (and mind) responds the way it does.
I know that Ayurveda can help you, too.
My Philosophy
I believe that you can heal yourself. By turning your attention inward, and with the right knowledge and support, you can cultivate the practices that will help you heal your body, mind and spirit.
What I have found is that by anchoring myself in the practices that feed me, I can generate well-being, enough to share with others. Ayurveda, the science of life, helps me understand my own unique body/mind/spirit on a daily basis, and from there I make choices that bring balance.
